Using Textures
Textures can really add nice effects and sometimes provide enough of a difference that you could even get away without using brushes if you felt like it. Anyhoo, this is my quick & simple tutorial on how I use textures.
1. Open the image you will be working on. I used this pic
2. Open the textures you want to use.
3. Drag your first texture onto your image, creating a new layer.

4. Set this new layer's blending mode with the texture on it to 'Soft Light' (you can try other's such as overlay etc but soft light works well) Click here to see

5. Drag your next texture onto this, creating a 2nd layer.
