I'm not great at tutorials but here's one to achieve a soft, glossy/glowy effect on images.:)

I started with this:-

1. Duplicate your image, by right clicking on the layer.
Step 1

Then set the blending mode (the drop down menu on the layers menu) for the duplicate layer to hard light or overlay (you can use screen or soft light)

3. Your image will look like this (or lighter if using screen or soft light)-

4. Next, still on the duplicate layer, go to Filter->>Blur->>Gaussian Blur

5. And change the setting to anything between 3.0 to about 6.7 depending on how glowy you want it to look. The lower the setting the more glossy rather than glowy it will look. ;)

Voila! It's as easy as that. Here are the end results:- Using 'Hard Light'

And using 'Screen' instead:-

 

You can do this effect before or after using brushes etc it can work just as well both ways. :)
